Welcome to our Lancers family!
As the principal of Rothwell-Osnabruck School, I am happy to share with you a glimpse into our vibrant and supportive school community. Our school is a place where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential, both academically and personally. We pride ourselves on offering a strong academic program that challenges and inspires our students to excel.
In our small community and our small school, we have a big heart. The close connections we share make our school a special place where everyone feels like family.
We are proud to offer dual-stream French programming (either 50/50 French Immersion or Core French). These programs provide students with valuable language skills and cultural understanding, enriching their educational experience.
Our dedicated teachers and staff work to create an environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. We align our efforts with the UCDSB Director’s Work Plan, focusing on enhancing student achievement in Reading, Writing, and Math, as well as promoting student well-being and Real-World Learning. We are committed to ensuring that our students are prepared for future success and that our staff feel supported in their roles.
Beyond the classroom, we provide a range of clubs and sports that cater to diverse interests and talents. Students in grades 4-6 have opportunities to represent us at inter-school sports competitions, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship. Additionally, our Real-World Learning projects and community connections help students apply their knowledge in meaningful ways and understand the importance of civic engagement.
We believe that education is a partnership between the school and families, and we are committed to maintaining open and ongoing communication with you. Our strong school/home connections are the foundation of our friendly and welcoming environment. There are many parent volunteer opportunities available, including joining the school council, helping with the hot lunch program, and participating in fundraising events. Your involvement and support are crucial to our success, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us.
Equity and inclusion are at the heart of our mission. We strive to ensure that every student feels they belong and are represented. Our efforts include reducing achievement gaps and improving learning outcomes for all students, regardless of class, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.
Together, we will continue to foster a community of learners who are prepared to make a positive impact in the world. Thank you for being a part of our Lancers family!
If you are new to the Ingleside community, or have student registration questions, questions about the use of our amazing facilities or our academic programming, please call us any time. We are pleased to offer personalized tours at a time convenient for you and your family, if this is of interest to you.
Thank you for your interest in our school.
Warm regards,
Janet Gellately
